"Hermanus is a clean and safe coastal town, lots to do and see, lots of restaurants and shopping places."
"I only give Hermanus such a low rating, because it has become very commercialized and overly developed, as opposed to the quaint town it once was. Many of the quaint little shops, which gave the town character, have closed or moved to smaller units. The Whale Coast Mall is an 'eyesore', is very inaccessible, and takes away the town's character. Additionally, the local informal settlement seems to have grown out of control. It has contributed to crime and safety issues, in the town."

"I wasn't actually in Hermanus as such. Accommodation located in Vermont which is 'a sort of village' located around 5 km from Hermanus town proper. I did not have a car which put the town of Hermanus out of reach but my daughter stays in Vermont. Vermont is a beautiful, quiet 'suburb' right next to/near the sea/rocky coastline."
