Disappointed.

The best word to summarise my stay at Uvongo Cabanas 4B would be disappointed. That goes both for the booking experience and the unit itself. Whilst the booking process through the website was painless, I can't say the same for the booking agents themselves (Van Heerden Letting). I found them to be unfriendly and inefficient, even being unaware of my (fully paid!) booking when I had to follow up with them a few days before check-in as to why I had not heard anything yet regarding my check-in. As for the unit: Yes, the photos are largely representative of what the unit looks like. However, it does not show the very rusted Trellidoors that one has to wrestle with every time one has to lock/unlock them. The gate in the one room does not even lock at all! The bathroom door has to be wrestled to get it to close. And then there is the constant 'mouldy'/wet smell, especially in one of the rooms. I was disappointed that I had not chosen one of the other (recently revamped) apartments that I had considered, at the same and lesser rates than this unit. On the upside, the unit has a partial sea view and does have DStv with limited channels, even though the advert says one has to bring one's own decoder which wasn't necessary in the end. All in all, the unit is in need of an upgrade to match its price point. And the service levels and courtesy of the Van Heerden staff can certainly do with an upgrade too.

Nice and friendly staff from agents to the cleaners. Enjoyed a peaceful and relaxing stay.

Walking distance to the beach and shops. Clean and neat unit. Nice to hear the waves at night. Outside garden, dustbin and braai kept clean and neat every day. Thank you for making our holiday memorable.
