Tomma se Huis

Unprepared for our arrival.

We arrived around 7pm after travelling since the morning. This was the last night and supposed to be highlight of a family reunion. Despite receiving pre arrival communication from the host, they were not prepared for out arrival. Electricity and geyser was not switched on. Everything was absolutely filthy; I wish I could post photos here. Stove top rusted and tears of filth running down the side of the stove. Coffee machine rusted and filthy. Cobwebs. Dirty dishes in the kitchen sink. Dirty kitchen sink. Towels in the bathroom were used. Light fitting in the bathroom was lying on the edge of the bath. The flatlet had mouse droppings everywhere. We killed four cockroaches in the flatlet in less than an hour of our arrival. I called the owner and although she offered to send someone to clean; it was way past seven and I said we would just do it ourself. Thus we swept and mopped both the main house and flatlet. Washed out the bathrooms. Wanted to change the bedding but the spare set in the bottom of the cupboard had mouse droppings and a live cockroach. I owner said the bedding and towels had to be clean as she changed them herself in November. Our booking was for mid December? More than two weeks after the last linen change? Braai is a flimsy rusted steel contraption hidden behind the house. There were five plastic chairs also behind the house that we needed to clean before we could used them. We decided to not clean anymore and carried out the living room chairs. The owner refunded me in full but I should have charged a cleaning fee as well! Turns out there was a miscommunication about who needed to clean the place and it was never cleaned. Hands down the worst accommodation I have ever stayed in. If Langebaan was not as full, we would not have stayed. The house has huge potential and great views but is severely neglected and needs a lot of money spent on it to make it passable.

Acceptable.

The property is not fenced off from the road, so there is no secure parking. The property is in desperate need of attention and has no shade, making it an unpleasant stay in summer. The 3 sleeper accommodation is a waste of time and if not part of the main house, you have no extras, like towels, blankets, cutlery, TV. We had to be moved to the main house as we complained about the condition of the flatlet. As an 8 sleeper property, it is totally overpriced for what you are getting. Will not stay there again.

Ons verblyf van 3 dae was heerlik. Het die uitsig oor die see baie geniet en het 'n rustigheid oor ons gebring. Sal beslis graag weer wil besoek.

Sal beslis aanbeveel vir mense wat stilte soek.

Akkommodasie nie op standaard nie.

Tomma se Huis se standaard is baie swak en kan doen met opgradering. Geen TV of mikrogolf beskikbaar nie.

Mooi, skoon huis met uitsig oor die water en geriewe vir die gesin.

Ons het op kort kennisgewing by Tomma se Huis bespreek en die eienaar het vinnig die huis beskikbaar gestel en die huis laat oopsluit. Dit was gerieflik en naby alles geleë, skoon en netjies en het aan ons verblyf vereistes voldoen. Baie dankie.

Aankoms was nie lekker, maar met behulp van die webtuiste se konsultant het ons probleme gou uitgestryk.

Sal plek aanbeveel. Eienaar moet net inspeksie doen voor nuwe gaste arriveer.

Die huis was baie netjies. TV is nodig.

Baie netjiese huis. Sal weer graag gebruik maak van die huis in die toekoms.

Ons het heerlik gekuier en die uitsig baie geniet.

Ons het baie lekker gekuier en sal weer daar bespreek. Daar was egter nie enige messe of vurke nie. Die mikrogolf werk ook nie aangesien die prop stukkend is en die drade steek by die prop uit.
