"Bettys Bay is a lovely vacation destination. The Harold Porter botanic garden is our favourite garden in South Africa, it has unspoiled fynbos and lovely walks. The area has a number of nice long mountain walks and shorter beach walks. The penguins are always fun to visit. These days there are some places to eat when one is not wanting to braai/cook."

"The Overberg is a fabulous getaway with fun things to do in the surrounding area. The only drawback is that much of it closes at lunch on Saturday, so you have to get out early to enjoy the surrounding shops and markets. However, the walking, beaches, and hikes are also fabulous, so lots to do."

"Hermanus is simply a stunning seaside town with spectacular views of the Atlantic and mountain views of the Overberg. Many wonderful places to eat at, clean and safe streets to stroll on, and of course, the bio-diversity paths along the waterfront are informative and full of wildlife. We visited out of season, though over a long weekend and the town was buzzing."
