"While the town has an old-world rustic appeal with really friendly people you get the sense the locals and industry is really struggling. A lot of surrounding homes and the area in general are not in a good state. The town is in need of investment to put it on par with other fishing towns in the Western Cape."

"Witsand is a gem with many facets. The brightest being the friendly, welcoming folk at 'Spasie' eatery. Their cuisine is utterly mouth-watering. Presentation enchanting. Their chef is top-drawer. I wanted to take home a chocolate brownie for later, I had to eat it there and then! We ordered croissants for collection 9 a.m next day. It was great seeing so many others fetching their orders with huge grins."
