"Die dorpie Tulbagh is ongelukkig 'n slagoffer van ons regering se onvermoë om 'n beter lewe aan sy mense te gee. Die hoofstraat is besaai met werklose mense wat vinnig om toeriste brom. Meeste besighede is of gesluit of het beperkte besigheidsure. Darem is die strate redelik skoon. Die prag van die area is nie die dorp nie, maar die natuurskoon en die omliggende plase, berge, riviere, damme, staproetes en bergfietspaaie."

"The 16 mile (25 km) beach is great for long walks or just for a dip in the water. Suitable for surfing or body boarding. We didn't try the local restaurants. A little mall is at the entrance of the housing area which includes a big Spar and a barber. The ABSA ATM is across the street. Even closer to our accommodation was a petrol station and a range of shops including a pharmacy. There is a harbour in Yzerfontein. The drive there is quite nice. Langebaan is 43 mins drive from Yzerfontein. We drove there to visit the Shark Bay hotel, watch the kite surfers on the lagoon and to have lunch at the Roxy Beach restaurant. There are a few small restaurants along the main beach."
